Introduction

“God has just healed you!”, I said to Jude as she came in from the garden. We were just preparing to go for out for our weekly shop and Jude was giving the dogs a quick kick with the ball for five minutes.

For years Jude had been going through the menopause and it had been a dark valley. A few days prior while Jude was cleaning a customer’s home, she was in the kitchen and suddenly felt so debilitated she could not cope anymore. At that moment she felt God speak to her, “Give it to me!”. We had been praying so much over the years but this time Jude felt it was audible! Obediently, she did just that and later returned home and shared the story with me.

While kicking the ball for the dogs on that Friday afternoon Jude was suddenly overwhelmed by what she would call and later give testimony to a “Whoosh” that went right through her body. Immediately she knew she had been healed and that God had touched her. When she came through the door, I seemed to instinctively know something had happened to her and said, “God has just healed you!”

Jude had indeed just been healed and it was glorious but some years later on the 24th July 2020 Leukaemia came knocking at her door. Would this prove to be another opportunity for healing?

Would it be a repeat of what happened the first time? Jude had said that if she recovered from Leukaemia, she would write a book called, “Not Once but Twice”.

This is a story that was started by my wife but finished by me, her husband. I can say without doubt the title is true, but the second time it took dying to make Jude whole.

Prayer

Father, I pray for those reading this story that they too will be inspired & encouraged by Jude’s bravery & trust in God when facing maybe their own serious illness or situations.

You are The Great Physician and when we put our lives in your hands we grasp something of your sovereignty over every issue of life.

I now pray the following verses that were given to Jude just a few days before her diagnosis with Leukaemia. May those reading these verses also see the great promises before them.

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

In Jesus’ Name, Amen
