Remission

“ Praise God from whom all blessings flow….” Thomas Ken

Coming out of Christmas and into New Year, Jude was looking refreshed and had gained weight.

Wednesday 6th January 2021, we visited the clinic and heard the amazing news from Dr Damian that Jude was in remission following the results of a biopsy.

“To the faint He giveth power,

Through the mountains makes a way,

Findeth water in the desert,

Turns the night to golden day”   Redemption Hymnal 283

However, Dr Damian wanted Jude to come back for a fourth session of chemotherapy. He said that it was needed to reinforce the previous treatment. Jude’s sisters stem cell donation had not been found acceptable so steps were being taken to look at a matching host but this could only be done in Dublin if it was deemed necessary.

Sunday 10th January 2021, we broke bread and had a time of prayer before heading for a covid check pending admission back in hospital. Drive-through stations had been set up for covid checks and as we approached the nursing station a brother in Christ, Aaron, was ready to greet us. We had not seen him for a while and when he saw Jude and we put him in the picture he prayed for her. It was very humbling and another example of how God was in control.

“Let the beloved of The LORD rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one The LORD loves rests between His shoulders”   Deut 33:12

Monday 11th January 2021 after the results of a clear covid check Jude was re-admitted into hospital for the next forty days for her final chemotherapy.

Prayer

Father, thank you for amazing news when it comes and how it helps us refocus for the continuing journey.

Thankyou also that you are concerned about the smallest of details and meeting Aaron at the covid station out of all the nurses in Northern Ireland was typical of your absolute sovereignty over the affairs of men.

We don’t always understand your ways but you said that You would never leave us nor forsake us.

I worship You, Father.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen
